I don’t think I will be able to complete my Chun Li costume for Expo anymore. It’s annoying, because I was very much looking forward to it, but the cost of fabric for her (becuase  I’d need quite a lot) and how difficult it’s proving to find nice boots are kicking me whilst I’m down to be honest. She’s still in-progress, though, and I wont write her off completely, but it’s looking highly unlikely she’ll be done. Might have to be a re-wear…

In the meantime though I have some little snibbits to report on-

First of all, I have started making the ears for Fluttershy! I’m using polymorph that I will paint yellow and glue to a thin headband. Here’s a little progress photo, since they’re still drying right now;

I also made my boyfriend some Batman pants! (The gloves were modified by me, too, actually…) His Batman will be accompanying my Pamela Isley this MCM October Expo. As for Pamela herslef, I now have everything I need barring a labcoat, so hooray!

Finally, I have added Ghoulia Yelps to my cosplay plans list. For sometime in 2012

To get the ball rolling, I went out and bought a little hair accessory for Pamela today. Not only that, but a jewellery set I got for my birthday will provide a little bit of flower-themed glam!

Speaking of jewellery, another set of earrings I got for my birthday will do just perfectly for Chun Li, don’t you think?

Finally, once again, it’s Karina Lyle! I’m making some great progress on her jacket, and it is very nearly almost done. Here’s some progress shots all together of my sewing the lining and the collar. Now it’s just some stitiching it all together!

I spent most of yesterday evening drafting a pattern for a waistcoat that I could then modify for Karina’s Jacket. Today, I cut that pattenr onto my fabric. The first try was a little too small to be honest, but I had enough leftovers to try again- and this time it was perfect.

Unfortunately though, I forgot to pick up brown lining fabric when I was out in the week and now wont have chance ’til Monday, so I can’t sew anything yet~ nuuuuu! What I’ve done instead to further check how it looks is pin on the collar and fleece, as well as the zipper. I have to admit, I’m proud of myself!

I cut out all of the pattern pieces for the Jacket of Karina Lyle. It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun to make! Hopefully after work this weekend I will transfer these pieces to the fabrics and at least get things pinned together. How exciting!

Yes, this is a very vain and hipster-y post, but don’t judge me!

So, after playing around with some tights, I stil have trouble getting the right colour for Chun Li.

I have bright orange tights, and three pairs of thin tan tights. I’ve layered the tan tights over the orange tights, hoping for a duller orange, but no luck- all I have is orange with a sheen. Derp.

However,  today I bought a pair of 40 denier chocolate tights, and some tan tights that fit better. After layering the chocolate over the orange, it’s now too dark! How is this? So I’m still stumped, to be honest. The chocolate/orange combo is the closest so far, so if all else fails I’ll use that, but I’m still not overly keen.

However one thing I can get right is Chun Li’s hairpieces. I bought some more fabric today to make my final ones- with pretty gold trim to boot!

As a very quick note about Fluttershy whilst still talking about tights- I found an eBay seller that sells supposedly XXL Tights in a very nice baby pink colour. I might be ordering them over the weekend…

Karina Lyle is already coming on in leaps and bounds!

I’ve already made both of her necklaces, and on top of that I have the fabrics to make her jacket/bodywarmer. The only reason I haven’t started making it yet is because I forogt to buy brown lining, and I also have no pattern pieces ready. But still, it’s a good start. And I do love that jacket!

What else.. Oh yes! Stocking! I bought some blue fabric today for her necktie and bows! Unfortunately it is a tad on the dark side but.. I’m really hoping it will do. This will be interfaced too, for extra perky-ness!

Man I spent £43 today… I really gotta stop having sprees like this!!!

I’m curently slowly starting to get ready for October Expo as well as Fushicon! And I mean slooooowly… I have to wait until I’ve been paid before I can start making stuff.

So, so far I have a little bit of Progress on Chun Li.
I made a prototype/test run of her little hair bun/odango covers. These will be remade slightly bigger out of white polycotton, and then on the final versions, I’ll add all of the ribbons she has hanging off them. I was also thinking of grabbing some gold ribbon, (or bias binding if I can find some) and adding it as a trin around the edge, just to make them a little more intricate and detailed.

I also have been playing around with tights! The first tights I bought were so incredibly orange they were too orange for even Chun Li. So I found any other tights I had, and layered them up! The picture below shows my orange tights, layered up with 4 pairs of 15 denier nude tights. I think I need to hunt down some chocolate coloured tights, to be honest… these nude ones are still a little too thin.

Stocking is also coming along well. Sort of.
And by that I mean my wig is here! It’s the most beutiful thing, I keep putting it on, un-braiding it, and then re braiding it. It’s so soft and easy to brush. The only problem with it is it’s a little small, but I’m sure I can get around that somehow.

A relatively new one on my Progress list, Karina Lyle, has also been started.
This is really only because  I had a bit of a wig-party with my friend Saffron, and I rediscovered my old ginger curly wig. With a little bit of a fringe cut, it should do for Karina! And is also better than my previous choice- a brown one I already owned for Mille from Trigun.

Next up, a bit of a surprise discovery- Panty!
I nver in 1,000 years thought I’d cosplay Panty, but after trying on Saffron’s wig, it might happen… At October Expo! We were toying with the idea of swapping costumes for part of the evening, since we’re both the same size, so watch this space for that, I guess…

In writing, it’s about personal pro-nouns. (I, he, she, you)

POV is dictated by the degree of the report or information presented.

Gamers that find her sexually desireable exploit her computerised image with the unauthorized “Nude Raider” patch that can be applied to the computer version of the game to play nude as Lara.

Lara Croft possesses a lot of masculine traits that some women find unappealing for a woman to be representing the masses.

Many feminists critique Croft in the same way they critiqued Barbie. They claim that she adds t othe development of a poor self-image for young girls that try to reach her unattainable looks. In both cases the case of plastic surgery as well as plastic surgery addiction have been linked to these fictional women.
